How to Crack for IIT JEE Entrance Exam easily

  • Start with NCERT

The NCERT books form the basis for the JEE entrance exams, especially for the JEE Main. A common mistake many students make is to start with direct reference books when their concepts and theoretical knowledge is not very strong.

NCERT books will give you a solid foundation of concepts and thus are the best books to start preparing. It should also be noted that 60-70% of the JEE main paper is based on the NCERT books. However, it is not sufficient for practical questions.

  • You have an inquisitive mind

Questioning concepts will help you broaden your understanding and thus help you solve many quirky questions based on the same theory. You can never solve problems if you are simply stealing concepts.

  • Solution using multi-solution technology

When you solve the questions for a particular class, do not try to solve 100 questions for each topic, but rather try to solve a specific question in multiple ways. For example: In mathematics, calculus problems can be solved using coordinate geometry and any complex number problem can be solved using vector calculus.

This will help you learn alternative ways of dealing with the problem. In the actual paper, there will be times when you will not be able to solve a question using your preferred method. Knowing multiple ways to solve the question will help you reach the result even if another approach is needed.

  • see wisely

Students generally review often or not at all. Once you’ve finished a chapter, review it well but don’t spend more than 2-3 hours revising. Amplify your review by solving practice questions on the topic from reference books instead. This will help you instantly understand the concepts you just studied.

  • Manage your time efficiently

No matter how many efforts you put in or how many papers you solve, if you do not use your time effectively, you will not be able to complete it and practice it in time. To better keep track of the time you allocate for different classes, review and practice, you can take advantage of time management apps.

Even a simple tool like Google Calendar can be used to allocate time or days for classes/sections. It can be more effective than a printed calendar because it will give you reminders of different events.

  • Take Mock Tests

Practicing at home is most effective when you test yourself at regular intervals. Now, the question is how to maximize your benefit from these dummy papers. A common mistake most students make is that they never review what they have come up with. You should spend at least 6-7 hours to review the process.

When you solve a paper, try to analyze the questions or chapters you’re having trouble with and the areas you’re quick to solve. After the first mock test, you will have a list of your strong areas as well as the topics that require more attention. Use these ideas to work on areas where you are lacking and with each mock test you will find yourself getting better.

  • Smart Strategy

Also, develop a smart strategy while solving the paper. 50% of the questions in the paper have a low difficulty level, so solve them first. Never try to use paper in sequence and avoid questions that you have difficulty solving while solving your dummy papers.

  • Choose the right reference books

Once you are meticulous with your NCERT books, move on to the reference books. These books cover topics from basic to advanced level-based questions. Reference books will greatly help you in building knowledge about concepts through practice. Specifically engineered for JEE preparation by the best experts in the market.
